Inspection of vehicles prior to bidding at USS auctions

Today I was asked about the paid inspection procedure at USS auctions?

There are three different inspection packages at USS auctions: 1) INTERIOR / EXTERIOR PACKAGE (exterior and interior), 2) ENGINE / DRIVE PACKAGE (internal combustion engine and chassis), 3) PICTURE PACKAGE (photos).

First, you need to select one of these packages, or two, or one package and paid options from other packages.

1) INTERIOR / EXTERIOR PACKAGE (exterior and interior) The cost of this inspection package is 1,000 yen + 10% tax from 1,000 yen (in Japan, every paid service is taxed). If a person chooses another package and then supplements some options from this package, then the cost of each option is 300 yen.

- Checking the body

- Checking under the body

- Glass check

- Checking wheels and suspension

- Checking (visually for rust and dirt) internal combustion engine

- Checking nameplates, models, etc.

- Interior check

- Checking the salon equipment, audio, etc.

- Checking the operation of the camera, sensors

That is, as you can see, this includes only a visual check.

2) ENGINE / DRIVE PACKAGE (internal combustion engine and chassis) The cost of this inspection package is 1,000 yen + 10% tax from 1,000 yen (in Japan, every paid service is taxed). If a person chooses another package and then supplements some options from this package, then the cost of each option is 300 yen.

3) PICTURE PACKAGE (photos) The cost of 1,000 yen + 10% for 12 photos that the client chooses to photograph Cost of 2,000 yen + 10% for 24 photos, which the client chooses to photograph Cost of 2,000 yen + 10% for 35 photos, which the inspector chooses to photograph

USS TOKYO, USS YOKOHAMA, USS NAGOYA - accept requests for inspection the day before the auction, and the results will be sent on the day of the auction. Other USS auctions accept requests at 7:00 am on the day of trading.

The auction takes money for the inspection regardless of whether you have purchased a car or not.

Many exporting companies do not prefer inspections and this is understandable, since the request for inspections is made through the USB key of the CIS system, and the keys are always busy as buyers prepare for bets and set alarms (a bell notifying the approach of your bet). Then you need to wait for the results of the examination, transfer all this to the client and wait for a response from him. Some companies inspect cars themselves for free at auctions where they have employees.
