The Japan Automobile Dealers Association and the National Federation of Light Vehicle Associations announced the number of new cars sold in February. Toyota "Yaris" sold 25,999 units and became the top for the sixth straight month. Six mini vehicles were ranked in the top ten. Honda "N-BOX" was the top mini vehicle, followed by Spacia and Tanto.
The number of new vehicles registered in February was 262,372 (down 2.2% from the same month of the previous year), the number of light vehicles sold was 169,927 (up 5.0% from the same month of the previous year), and the total number of registered vehicles and light vehicles sold was , 432,299 units (up 0.5% year-on-year), positive for 5 consecutive months
